                 HOW WE CALCULATED POINTS 2005

The first year BestJunior maintained statistics was limited to Open Class points only.  Novice class points are not included in 2005 statistics.

Described below is how each list/category is derived and the particulars involved with each.

*** Exception to Note: Limited/Invitational Junior Competitions WILL be counted for 2005 statistics (Any show that the AKC Events/Results lists as a Limited Competition) A seperate ranking will be kept of Limited Points.  In the Limited Ranking the following will apply: 1st placements are counted for all Limited/Invitational Junior Showmanship Competition EXCEPT Westminster Kennel Club and the AKC/Eukanuba Invitational Show where the AKC lists 1-4th placements. This is how the AKC reports the results and this is how we count the number defeated. There are no exceptions to this rule.

CORRECTIONS: All statistical corrections for Jan'05 - Dec'05 must be made before January 30, 2006, after which time, no adjustments will be made on the 2005 standings.

Here is the  link  to the AKC site to check show results.  J
ust type in the show, or change the time range to the whole month and hit search. There is no excuse to not keep track of your show record, as the AKC has updated the Junior Show results to show individual class entry and total Junior entry.

The events search uses the same data base from which our electronic report is derived, so any errors in the results will be carried over to our report.

I can not stress this enough:  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH INDIVIDUAL JUNIOR TO MAINTAIN THIER OWN SHOW RECORD and not rely solely on BestJunior to do this for you, Your cooperation in this matter will ensure accurate statistics for year end rankings and the correct  presentation of rosettes.
